MEET OUR TEAM

The Arts workers at Creative Response are all practising artists in their own specialist areas.

This ranges from ceramics to printmaking to sculpture.  There is a lead arts worker in each session

who has responsibility for the group and arts workers work alongside participants sharing their skills

and knowledge. The groups have a relaxed atmosphere and an acceptance of each participant as an individual with different needs and creative skills.  The creative process and the safe, non-judgmental environment are important elements, giving participants access to a sanctuary where they can just be.

Chief Officer

Having had over 20 years experience in Arts Development and becoming an arts manager, I have a strong understanding of community engagement and participation, and I have developed and managed a diverse range of arts based programmes for and with communities.
My last role at Guildford Borough Council, where I led and managed the arts development provision, as well as oversaw the delivery of the Council’s Public Art Strategy, has prepared me well for this role, and I am looking forward to working with the Trustees and the team here at Creative Response to provide a vital service to the participants.

Norman Wren

Chair of Trustees

Having spent over 40 years working in Financial Services I decided in 2016 that I wanted to change tack and support those less fortunate then me. In that year I joined Creative Response as a Trustee. When the role of Chair came up I was delighted to accept and continue this worthwhile work. The way  in which many of our participants find  their creative voice and grow in confidence is inspirational.

Business Administrator

After having a successful career, which included 8 years as a bank clerk, 15 years with an American Investment Bank as a programmer, analyst and project manager, 7 years teaching IT in Adult Education, and 7 years running my own Catering Business, I decided it was time to retire from full-time work. I have always appreciated the arts, so it was a pleasure when I was offered the chance to join the Creative Response team on a part-time basis, which allows me more time to pursue my hobbies of painting, playing music, swimming and golf.
